Launch of the Cranberry SC20 Smart Client

Cranberry launches a powerful, energy-efficient and totally manageable Smart Client device that offers businesses a viable alternative to the conventional desktop PC.

This greener PC alternative is designed around the ultra-efficient AMD Geode chipset – the Cranberry SC20 requires just ten per cent of the power of a conventional PC. Utilising the Microsoft Windows® XP Embedded operating system the SC20 can be locked down to prevent unauthorised changes to both applications and the operating system. This gives the SC20 unrivalled security and maintenance free operation.

Cranberry’s SC20 Smart Client is no bigger than a paperback book and can perform all the functions of a bulky PC, but takes up just a fraction of desk space.

The Cranberry SC20 Smart Client has been designed to be much more power-efficient than a conventional desktop PC. By utilising the ultra-efficient AMD Geode chipset the SC20 typically uses less than 10 watts of power which can be as much as 19 times less power than a conventional desktop PC when in normal use.
